I live near Seattle WA. We were hit with a “Boom Cyclone” earlier this week that pummeled part of the Pacific NW with high winds and gusts for hours from Tuesday evening until about 4am Wednesday morning. About 400,000 homes & business lost power, internet, and cell service (towers damaged).
Many are still waiting for restoration of one or more service - and dealing with property damage and piles of debris much worse than my situation.
I lost one fence panel and the side wall of my carport blew over onto my neighbor’s garage. Same neighbor had a huge evergreen fall missing the back of her garage by inches. BUT my new pool enclosure is totally fine!!!
I credit this partly to the sheltering effect of tall bushes flanking my patio / pool on two sides, and house on one side house + the Laguna’s aerodynamic shape and Pool & Spa Enclosures engineering folks who checked wind and snow load requirements in my area to make sure my unit met specs.
Water temp before losing power just before midnight on Tuesday 11/19 was 91 F. Power came back on Friday 11/22 around noon. I checked pool temp on the gas heater about 2 pm, it was 87 F.
